US Occupation of E Syria

The illegal occupation of eastern Syria by the US appears to be ramping up.  The occupation is illegal under international law for the simple fact that the US was not invited into the country by the government in Damascus.  By contrast, Russia was invited in as were other forces assisting in the war against the terrorists.

Russian reports of the US strengthening its military presence are carried by Sputnik news.  Some analysts believe the intention of the US is to solidify its occupation in a zone east and northeast of the Euphrates River. US forces are said to be reorganizaing and retraining various terrorist organizations and regrouping them under a new political party, the Syria future Party.  Thus, the new political party will have both a political wing and an armed terrorist wing.

"Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has commented on the situation in Eastern Ghouta and the US military presence in Syria.

Moscow is concerned by Washington's plans to fortify its military presence in Syria at the US military base in al-Tanf, as heavy military equipment is arriving, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

"We are still concerned about reports that the United States and its allies are consolidating their illegal military presence in the territory of sovereign Syria. In particular, heavy military equipment is arriving to the zone established by the United States around the settlements of al-Tanf in the southeast of the country," Zakharova told a briefing...."
