President Donald Trump's National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster is reported to be finally on the way out the door. Trump surrounded himself with generals and the administration thus took on the image of a Third World Junta running the show with a chaotic White House. Trump campaigned on a populist and nationalist platform which implied a restrained non-interventionist policy. But the opposite happened despite an element of moderation in former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. McMaster like the other generals in the Junta is a hawk. Because Trump seeks a tough guy image McMaster seemed to fit in. But he never connected with Trump either personality-wise or in his role as advisor. McMaster is not an ardent pro-Israel voice in the mix and thus runs afoul of Jared Kushner, Trump's son in law. Several names have been rumored during the past several months as replacements. The most notorious is John Bolton, former UN ambassador and ultra pro-Israel hawk. Bolton and Trump had a good relations when Bolton was a campaign advisor.
